The Plottery: A Guide to Unhinged Storytelling was a storytelling-station that popped up at the Rietveld Pavilion, Amsterdam. It proposed narrative as a vessel to speculate about our past, present and future.

While a plot usually refers to the chronological sequence of events that make up a story, with unhinged storytelling, it dangles in the air like an unhinged door, allowing for accident and disarray. This allows us to conceive of stories that are joyful, intuitive, and potentially disruptive.

Workshops were held in small groups or individually and consisted of guided sessions, in which we would weave inconsistent stories around topics that felt urgent to us at that moment.

Toni Brell works with scenography, auto-fiction and performance to investigate the instability of their own position. Hosting rather than presenting, Brell likes to create situations, in which an audience can react and relate to what they see. For this, Brell often uses landscape as a stage or container where this exploration unfolds.
