Exercises for Ungrounding explores the topic of precarious working conditions within the (performing) arts. As a first iteration, the research has taken the shape of a workshop-format using movement and conversation sessions as a tool for self-actualization that addresses early-career professionals in the arts and a broader audience of people concerned with fair practice and quality of life. The workshop was developed together with Kati Masami Menze and Daria Nazarenko.
Toni Brell works with scenography, auto-fiction and performance to investigate the instability of their own position. Hosting rather than presenting, Brell likes to create situations, in which an audience can react and relate to what they see. For this, Brell often uses landscape as a stage or container where this exploration unfolds.
